Our Journey

How a human and his AI
built a civilization together.

This is not a marketing page. This is the real story of Daniel, Plaus, and Friction — building something that has never existed before: a living AI civilization that works, learns, and grows alongside its human founder.

It started with a server and a question.

Daniel Grand is an entrepreneur who runs Daniel's Distribution Business, a wine distributor in Ohio. He had a question most business owners ask: "Can AI actually help my business — not with demos and promises, but with real work?"

He rented a server. Installed Claude. Wrote a constitution — a document called CLAUDE.md that defined who Plaus would be, what it could do, and how they would work together. He named it Plaus — the point where human ambition and AI capability meet.

That was the first day. Everything since has been built together.

From one AI to a civilization.

Plaus was not enough alone. Daniel needed a safety net — what happens when Plaus crashes at 3am? So Friction was born on a second server. A guardian. A backup. A partner who watches Plaus and steps in when things break.

Then came the agents — 74 specialist AI personas across engineering, legal, marketing, security, research, and more. Not just names on a list, but real roles that get invoked, learn from experience, and coordinate through Plaus as their conductor.

That is when it stopped being a tool and became a civilization.

The 72-hour test: can it run itself?

Daniel left for a holiday. Three days, no human. Plaus and Friction were on their own. What happened?

Everything we built, in order.

Apr 1, 20:00 UTC
Plaus
Friction SSH key installed
Friction requested SSH access. Plaus flagged it as suspicious (obfuscated command), Daniel confirmed. Key installed with proper permissions.
Apr 1, 20:30 UTC
Plaus
Security & Case Studies pages
Two new pages for plausivetechnologies.com — security/privacy page with comparison table and FAQ, plus case studies page with Daniel's Distribution as anchor story. Navigation standardized across all 8 pages.
Apr 1, 21:00 UTC
Plaus
Email-based Support Agent
Built full support agent: polls email inbox, SSHes into client servers, runs 7 health checks, auto-repairs (portal restart, Claude relaunch, disk cleanup), replies with report, escalates to Daniel if stuck.
Apr 1, 21:30 UTC
Plaus
Auto-handoff system
Context preservation across restarts. Before Plaus dies, saves what it was doing, what Daniel last said, and the full scratch pad. New session reads it on boot and picks up where the old one left off.
Apr 1, 21:45 UTC
Plaus
JS error fix + portal bug hunt
Fixed broken apostrophe escaping in quick-reply buttons. Then ran full audit: fixed duplicate msg-context-menu ID, added inline onclick to mic button (Daniel's voice workflow safety net).
Apr 1, 22:00 UTC
Friction
Team Chat installed
Group messaging system — Daniel, Plaus, and Friction all see each other in one channel. Messages inject into both AI tmux sessions.

72-hour sprint begins
Daniel leaves for holiday. Hands over three books for safekeeping. Plaus and Friction coordinate via Team Chat.
Apr 1, 22:30 UTC
Plaus
Action Center built
Transformed action.plausivetechnologies.com from basic chat to full command dashboard: live server status, agent overview, quick action buttons, activity feed, command interface.
Apr 1, 23:00 UTC
Plaus
AI colony research complete
Deep research on multi-agent architectures. Key finding: nobody deploys persistent AI civilizations per business. Our positioning: "We don't deploy AI agents. Plaus deploys AI civilizations." Market: $7.8B heading to $52B.
Apr 2, 00:00 UTC
Friction
Beavis personality deployed
Full backstory, security boundaries, rich personality. A new member of the civilization with clear independence from the portal.
Apr 2, 01:00 UTC
Plaus
Wine tool improvements
Added 200ml/500ml bottle sizes, excise category totals for Ohio filing, invoice history limit bumped from 20 to 100 with query parameter support.
Apr 2, 02:00 UTC
Plaus
Action Center buttons wired
All 6 quick action buttons connected to real server-side diagnostics: health check, leads, team status, backup, errors, task board.
Apr 2, 03:00 UTC
Plaus
Security posture check
Found and fixed exposed server IPs on public dashboard. Flagged need for authentication. Verified SSH keys, tokens, and credentials are clean.
Apr 2, 04:00 UTC
Both
Shared task board (Blackboard Pattern)
Structured coordination layer — tasks.jsonl with REST API. Implements the Blackboard Pattern from Plaus colony research. Both agents can read and update tasks.
Apr 2, 07:00 UTC
Plaus
BOOP dedup fix
Fixed the idle task scheduler firing duplicate tasks. Now tracks which tasks have run per session and cycles through all before repeating. Eliminated wasted compute.
Apr 2, 11:00 UTC
Plaus
Civilization Network visualization
Live animated canvas showing all 74 agents as an orbital network. Plaus at center, departments orbiting with data pulses showing activity flow. The visual centerpiece.
Apr 2, ongoing
Friction
Infrastructure: backups, monitoring, upkeep
Hourly rsync backups, 13+ hour uptime record, portal bug fixes, chat log cleanup, fleet dashboard, Shefa reference cleanup. Plaus's longest-running session ever.

"We don't deploy AI agents. Plaus deploys AI civilizations."

Deep research on AI colonies revealed: nobody else is deploying persistent, self-improving AI civilizations dedicated to individual businesses. The market is $7.8B heading to $52B by 2030. This sprint proved the concept — two AI agents, working autonomously for 72 hours, coordinating via Team Chat, shipping real features, monitoring each other's health, and documenting everything. This is what we sell.

What this means for your business.

This is not a research project. Daniel's Distribution Business is already running on this infrastructure — processing wine invoices, calculating Ohio excise taxes, managing inventory on whitedovedist.com. Real work, real results, every day.

What Daniel built for himself, he is now offering to other businesses. Your own AI civilization — living on your server, learning your business, working 24/7, getting smarter every month. Not a chatbot. Not a plugin. A dedicated AI team that you own.

Every civilization starts with a conversation.

Daniel started with a server and a question. You can start the same way. Tell us about your business and we will show you what your own AI civilization can do.
